Apparently giving Halloween costumes as baby gifts was “in” last year. I can’t tell you what a blessing that little trend has been for the twins. You see, I’m not exactly a Halloween enthusiast. Don’t get me wrong…my kids have always had a costume to wear, but I have to admit that Ryan was a banana at least five of his trick-or-treating years. I’m sure this is mostly because of that pesky practical side of my personality. I mean…who really remembers and I’d rather spend the money on real bananas than another ninja warrior costume. Take into account that the twins can’t walk yet (which makes trick-or-treating challenging) and only have four teeth between the two of them (putting a wrinkle in the eating of Dots) I may have foregone the costumes this year if other generous souls hadn’t felt compelled to gift them to us…well in advance.
Now I have a dilemma, though!
Which costume combo will be chosen for the glory of Halloween night? I mean, there’s no time for three wardrobe changes during the big event, so we have to choose a theme, and it’s hard.
(This is called a “First World” problem! You know…as opposed to a third world problem. And, yes! For that I am grateful!)
Anyhow, I’ve decided to give each costume a dry run and make a decision last minute based on some practicality. (i.e. Weather; Which one is clean; The costume I can find…) Our first fitting was yesterday and here’s how it went…
Oh…before I unveil this little photo shoot, you must know something. Reagan and Isabella, like all other twins, have their own language and talk to one another nonstop. I often (because I’m bored and somewhat isolated) imagine what they are saying to one another. This conversation happened during our photo op yesterday and must be shared because I’m positive I’ve broken their code!
These girls thought the other dressed in a duck costume was the funniest thing she’d ever seen. I can’t wait until they see the cow costumes…and the lambie costumes. We have a whole barnyard of costumes to cover. So…stay tuned for the cuteness!
