Happy Birthday IVF!

July 25th is a big day in my mind!  On this day in 1978, Louise Brown was born, marking the first birth of a child conceived through IVF.  It was a groundbreaking medical achievement, and one that directly impacted my life.  After all, Sean and I wouldn’t be the parents of our three beautiful daughters without the miracle of in vitro fertilization.

I was asked by Today Moms, the online blog for the Today Show, to commemorate the anniversary of the first IVF birth by writing a post.  I was thrilled to do so.  Please give it a read here.

Thanks for the post. My daughter turned 4 yesterday. She wouldn’t have been here if it weren’t for IVF. My in-laws wouldn’t have had a grandchild, by niece (also an IVF baby) wouldn’t have had a cousin nor would we have become parents. Our world is a better place because of her.

Hope all is well with B&L, M, and A.
