This is a poem written by Helen Steiner Rice about the love of a mother.  This past Sunday we were blessed with a visit from Logan and his family.  It was truly a wonderful time that I’ll write more about in my blog post tomorrow, but in preparation for this upcoming Mother’s Day…these words from this gifted poet, capture my thoughts perfectly.

A Mother’ Love

A Mother’s love is something
that no on can explain,
It is made of deep devotion
and of sacrifice and pain,
It is endless and unselfish
and enduring come what may
For nothing can destroy it
or take that love away . . .
It is patient and forgiving
when all others are forsaking,
And it never fails or falters
even though the heart is breaking . . .
It believes beyond believing
when the world around condemns,
And it glows with all the beauty
of the rarest, brightest gems . . .
It is far beyond defining,
it defies all explanation,
And it still remains a secret
like the mysteries of creation . . .
A many splendoured miracle
man cannot understand
And another wondrous evidence
of God’s tender guiding hand.

Hi carolyn and sean l read your book and l loved it. I also loved the poem carolyn, you are both such wonderful and inspiring people the love you both share will make you stronger. I believe when logan grows up he will know what wonderful people you both are and how loved he is and what sacrifices were for him and how lucky he is to be here . Sean your thoughts that you wrote about carolyn were just beautiful . I wish you and your family love health and happiness always and carolyn a very happy mothers day because you truely deserve it. Sincerly meg oliver

    Meg,
Thnak you so much for commenting about our book. We are blessed to have been able to get to know so many people through this journey. I think we are growing stronger through this process. We are only about a month away from two blessings entering our world. I hope your family is well.

    Sean

My first introduction to your family was a Friday evening news show (I don’t remember the network or the title, only your situation) and I was so impressed, I reset the DVR and watched it again. Then I saw your interview on GMA and was so happy to hear about the twins. You two have exhibited an amount of courage and morality that is beyond the scope of today’s world that is over-run with news of senseless violence, depravity and abject decodence. In short, you have helped restore my faith in mankind and rekindled my hopes for the future. May God continue to bless you and your family.
